Jerry and Salisa together are the Associate Editors for Biology and Conservation for the NSS JCKS. Dr. Lewis also serves on the board of directors of the American Cave Conservation Association. Dr. Lewis holds a PhD in Aquatic Biology, and he has published approximately 100 papers, book chapters, etc. He has been involved in biospeleology since 1971.

For Lewis and Associates LLC, he and Salisa conduct projects across the United States on cave, karst and groundwater biological consulting. Their office is located in Burns Hollow, out in the forest a couple of miles from the sleepy village of Borden, Indiana (the locals call it Boredom). Their typical customers run the spectrum of The Nature Conservancy, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Forest Service, state natural heritage programs, engineering companies, architectural firms, etc.

Their hobby which is becoming interwoven with their work is diving - they are certified in advanced open water and working their way up. They like to travel - probably their favorite past-time, which is a good thing, because they're on the road somewhere constantly.

Dr. Lewis provides an invaluable service to the Cambrian Foundation for his expertise lies in the identification, taxonomic description, and distribution of cave isopods.
